The Chitwan has had a long history of conservation. For many years it was the Royal hunting grounds for the Kings and dignitaries of Nepal and therefore was not hunted by the general public. It did however become a favorite spot for big game safari hunters in the late nineteenth and early to mid-twentieth centuries. This was coupled with a surge in local human populations following the development of anti-malaria medicines in the mid-twentieth century. The long-term effect was a drastic decrease in jungle habitat and animal populations in the Chitwan valley as jungles were converted to farmland and big game were hunted and poached to dangerously low numbers.

Itinerary 01 - Kathmandu-Pokhara-Chitwan Tour (by Fly or Drive) - 07 Nights 08 Days
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. O/N at the hotel
Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu. O/N at the hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara drive and transfer to the hotel. O/N at the hotel
Day 04: Sightseeing in Pokhara. 01 hour boating on Phewa Lake. O/N at the hotel
Day 05: Pokhara - Chitwan drive and transfer to the hotel. O/N at the hotel
Day 06: Full day Jungle activities in Chitwan including Elephant Safari. O/N at the hotel
Day 07: Chitwan - Kathmandu drive and transfer to the hotel. O/N at the hotel
Day 08: Transfer to airport to connect onward flight
Itinerary 02 - Kathmandu-Pokhara-Chitwan Tour (by Land) - 07 Nights 08 Days
Day 01: Arrival at Sunauli border. Transfer to hotel for lunch. After short refreshment, drive to Pokhara valley. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: After breakfast, Pokhara sight seeing of Bindhabasini temple, Seti river gorge, Mahendra cave, Davis fall. In the evening, 1 hour boat ride at Fewa lake. Overnight stay.
Day 03: After breakfast, drive to Kurintar for Manakamana darshan by cable car. After puja, drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
Day 04: After breakfast, Kathmandu valley sight seeing of Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: After breakfast, Kathmandu half day sight seeing of Budhanilkantha and Patan Durbar Square. Evening free for shopping and leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 06: Early morning, drive to Chitwan and transfer to hotel. Welcome drinks served upon check in at Chitwan hotel. Evening Tharu Cultural Dance show. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 07: After breakfast, Chitwan Jungle activities of Elephant ride, Nature walk, Bird watching, visit to elephant breeding farm. Drive to Sunauli border. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: After breakfast, departure from Sunauli border to Gorakhpur.
